XAMControl is now certified to the latest BACnet Version 1.12 as B -BC (BACnet Building Controller) and has just been listed by BACnet Interest Group Europe as a product.
Naturally, we also designed our BACnet Building Controller for highly-available and redundant stations in Hot-Standby mode so that there a re no limits with respect to system availability.
BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is a network protocol for building automation. It has been developed and is maintained by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Development started in June 1987 with the aim of providing a company-neutral standard for the documentation of data in and with systems for building automation.
BACnet guarantees interoperability between devices from different manufacturers, if all project partners agree on certain BIBBs as defined by the norm. A BIBB (BACnet Interoperability Building Block) defines which services and procedures must be supported by the server and client sides in order to fulfil certain demands placed by the system. The document PICS (Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement) associated with a device lists all BIBBS, object types, character sets and communication options.
